Building and Weather Cancelation Policies
Canine Connection Brainerd Kennel Club Building Policies
To ensure a safe, respectful, and positive environment for all participants, please review and follow these guidelines:
General Conduct

Smoking is not allowed in the training facility.

Objectionable language shall not be used in the facility.

Please do not disturb classes in progress. Observers must remain quiet and stay out of the way while classes are in session.

Training methods taught by instructors shall be those approved by CCBKC.
Dogs & Handling

Dogs must be taken to the designated “potty area” before class. Dogs are not allowed to urinate or defecate on equipment, buildings, or any human-made property. Handlers are responsible for cleaning up after their dogs.

Dogs must be vaccinated for rabies, distemper, and parvovirus. Proof of vaccination is required before attending class.

Dogs with fleas are not permitted in the facility.

Female dogs in heat may attend if they are wearing protective pants.

If more than one dog is brought to the facility, unattended dogs must be crated.

E-collars or shock collars are not permitted in class.

It is not permitted to hit, kick, or physically punish your dog in any way.

Any dog that poses an obvious danger to the health or safety of others may be excused from the facility. This decision requires the consensus of two or more people, including at least one Board member.
People & Participation

Participants must be at least 12 years old to take part in classes unless approved by the Board.

Children must be supervised at all times by an adult who is not actively training a dog.

Refunds will not be given unless approved by the CCBKC Board. Failure to follow policies may result in dismissal from class without refund.
Ethics & Standards

The CCBKC Board has approved and enforces a Code of Ethics for Instructors.

CCBKC does not condone the operation of puppy mills or farms and is committed to educating members on the harm such practices cause.
Weather Cancelation Policies
The safety of our dogs, handlers, and instructors is our top priority. In the event of severe or unsafe weather conditions (including snowstorms, icy roads), classes or open gym sessions may be delayed, rescheduled, or canceled.

Cancellations by Canine Connection:
If we must cancel due to weather, you will be notified by email/text and provided with options for a makeup class or rescheduled gym time. -
Cancellations by Participants:
If you feel travel is unsafe due to weather, please contact us as soon as possible. We will do our best to accommodate a makeup session or credit, though refunds are not available. -
Communication:
Weather-related updates will be posted on our website, Facebook page, and via direct email/text at least 2 hours prior to the scheduled class or session whenever possible.
